Breathe, Feel, Heal

Finding Stability Through Yoga and Self-Inquiry

I recently had the pleasure of joining Julie Nunan on her podcast, Roaming with Restless Women, for a heartfelt conversation about transformation, emotional balance, and the deeper meaning of yoga beyond the mat.

During our discussion, I shared how yoga became a steady anchor throughout the many transitions of my life — from moving across France, Germany, and the United States to navigating identity shifts and the profound grief of losing my mother. What began as a physical practice gradually became a way to reconnect body, mind, and spirit during times of uncertainty and emotional overwhelm.

Julie and I explored how emotions are not problems to fix, but messages asking for awareness. I spoke about my own experience of carrying grief in the body and how unprocessed emotions can quietly manifest as tension, shallow breathing, fatigue, or disconnection from ourselves. Through breathwork, mindfulness, and self-inquiry, we discussed how it is possible to return to a deeper sense of clarity, steadiness, and self-understanding.

In the episode, I also share insights from my book, Beyond Emotions: Stop Letting Emotions Control You and Start Living with Love, including practical tools designed to help people move through emotional pain with greater compassion, awareness, and inner freedom.

In This Conversation, We Explore:

  • How yoga can become a way of living, not just a practice on the mat

  • Why emotions often communicate through the body before the mind understands them

  • The connection between suppressed emotions and physical symptoms

  • How self-inquiry helps us move beyond emotional patterns and old stories

  • Practical and accessible tools for emotional healing, presence, and inner balance
